Another Reason Why Curcumin’s in Happy Tum!

Another Reason Why Curcumin’s in Happy Tum!

Over the past 20 years there’s been mounting evidence for the use of curcumin for digestive complaints. Curcumin is the name given to a group of powerful anti-inflammatory* and antioxidant* polyphenols called curcuminoids.

Researchers conducted an 8-week clinical trial in Australia. 77 adults with self-reported digestive complaints were recruited and randomised to receive either a placebo or 500 mg of the curcumin extract. Participants rated their symptoms and anxiety before and after using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale - 21 (DASS-21).

A 500 mg dose once daily was associated with greater improvements in digestive complaints and anxiety levels in adults with self-reported digestive complaints. Data collected from 77 participants showed curcumin was associated with a significantly greater reduction in the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale total score compared to the placebo. There was also a greater reduction in the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress -21 anxiety score. Curcumin was well-tolerated with no significant adverse events.

Altruvita Curcumin+ contains 500mg CurcuWIN® per 2 capsules, which is 46 x more absorbable than standard turmeric/curcumin extracts.** There is also 500mg curcuWIN® per 2 caps of Happy Tum as it is known to contribute to digestive comfort.*
